My role at PJH Law is Author, Coach and Entrepreneur or ACE for short.  As Principal I have over 25 years experience of employment law, 20 years of which are post qualification. Having had care and conduct of over a 1000 employment tribunal cases for both employer and employee.

I have written two books: A Practical Guide to Redundancy  and A Practical Guide to the Law on Bullying and Harassment in the Workplace.

And a further book is in progress on how neuroscience can help HR Practice.

Coach:

I am the principal and supervise a team of employment law Solicitors. We work in teams and I am actively involved in dealing with client matters.

I see my role as passing on my knowledge and experience to the team. I have been practising employment law since 1992, covering almost every type of employment law claim, including those to the CAC. Some of my cases have been reported.

My educational qualifications are increasingly irrelevant but they include a Bachelors degree and a Masters degree.

As Coach I instil in the team the ned for lifelong learning.  As a lifelong learner I apply insights from other disciplines to my work, in particular psychology and neuroscience.

Entrepreneur:

At PJH law we have developed our own practice management software, Step. This product will be going to market shortly.

We have also developed an online HR product called ARM, which has been commercialised and is in the market.

Me:

Outside work I enjoy travel, running, CPFC, reading, writing, family including my two lovely grand-children.

Education

I have a degree in law and politics from Hull. I have recently been awarded an Open University MA in literature and have found, to my surprise, that the skills and knowledge I acquired can be usefully deployed at work
