Destruction Rampage

Have you ever sacked someone by text? This story is a good reason not to – you should be doing it in writing via letter. Mr Doyle, an agency worker for a construction project in Devon had become aggressive on site in a dispute over pay. He threatened to tear the place up before being dismissed by text the following day.

The following Monday, staff arrived on site to find a digger had been used to cause over £100,000 worth of damage to the project. Despite initially denying his involvement, Mr Doyle was arrested and charged with criminal damage to his car and phone were found to have been in the area at the time. As stated above, it is an extreme example of how badly some people react to not being dismissed properly!
