Employment Law

Deaf snipers, knife-wielding teachers, cake eating cafeteria workers, every month an employment law case gets swept in the perfect storm that is tabloid journalism.

This month we are going back to the summer and talking about two council workers who were reported by an anonymous whistle-blower for sneaking off for half hours at the time allegedly to have sex on the showers of council premises.

When confronted the two officers strenuously denied having met to have sex. It was stated that the two were suspended after a full investigation, faced a disciplinary hearing and were sacked for ‘misuse of council time.’

The council stressed that the sex allegations did not form part of the ultimate disciplinary hearing. The takeaway point being not to have sex at work or to at least make it take less than a noticeable half hour!!!
