Company HR strategy, policy direction decisions, change management, performance improvement, solving difficult employee issues, legal updates, staff re-structures and reductions, employee involvement, conflict resolution, HR audit with feedback, contract compliance, equality and discrimination, training and development, solving TU issues (if any), TU recognition CAC claims, negotiating techniques.


I started life in the car industry’s industrial relations hotbed at Longbridge and moved through operational jobs (QC and Production) to arrive in HR with substantial experience. I moved through several site HR Manager’s job in a number of large manufacturing businesses before moving to Deputy Director of EEF East Midlands directing a large team of employment lawyers and HR professional advisers serving over 800 member companies (latterly when it merged with EEF West Midlands). After a substantial career and moving to Deputy C/E of the East Midlands operation, I now own and direct Strategic HR Support Ltd providing advice, guidance and training to clients either on a retained hours or project basis. We can work separately or in conjunction with PJH Law to provide clients with additional expertise in the HR specialisms mentioned above.


After the obligatory three (Maths, Physics, Chemistry) A levels, I studied applied science at University of Leeds. Later I studied Quality Control, CIPD, Adult Education Teaching Certificate, many IT, HR and Employment Law courses together with Management development subjects. I have delivered numerous course topics which I now present to my client’s requested specification.

Outside Activities

I enjoy walking, photography, all team sports, and apple growing. In fact during the summer/autumn months most clients become inundated with fresh supplies of home grown pommes.
