Phil Hyland – Principal
I have been ploughing the employment law field since 1992. I have conducted almost every type of case at Tribunal and some at the CAC. I am particularly interested in discrimination cases and redundancy cases. I have conducted over two hundred and fifty Tribunal hearings.
I had a non-orthodox career path involving spells in a haulage firm, an estate agents, McDonalds, an unemployment office signing on, a law centre, an employer’s organisation, and a regional law firm before the bullet was bitten and PJH Law was set up in 2002. One claim to fame is persuading the Law Society to waive the requirement to undergo a training contract, based on my experience.
I have a degree in law and politics from Hull. I have recently been awarded an Open University MA in literature and have found, to my surprise, that the skills and knowledge I acquired can be usefully deployed at work.
I like to travel and also enjoy football, reading, writing, films, travel and photography.
